"Can't Miss" Toronto Attractions

  • The Beaches International Jazz Festival
This 10-day music festival is held annually in the lakeside Beaches community of Toronto. Since 1988, it's grown to be one of Canada's largest free jazz festivals, hosting nearly 800,000 guests! Visitors can enjoy multiple venues, stage concerts and workshops. Each year the event brings in internationally renowned jazz performers as well as local talent and the new generation of jazz musicians.
  • Beaches Santa Claus Parade
Each year Santa Claus visits Kingston Rd. (right in front of our dental office!) in the annual Santa Claus Parade. The parade is presented by Community Centre 55 (CC55) and Kingston Road Village businesses. Enjoy family-friendly seasonal floats, marching bands and sweet treats!
  • The Danforth AKA "Greektown On The Danforth"
Known for its large amount of Greek restaurants and stores, The Danforth is between Chester Avenue and Dewhurst Blvd. in East Toronto. The most notable event in the area is the annual "Taste of the Danforth" food festival held over 2 and a half days in the summer. Guests can enjoy sampling Greek food as well as Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Brazilian offerings. The festival includes children's rides and activities like a climbing wall, street hockey and basketball. The festival has grown since it first started in 1994 and now hosts over 1 million visitors each year!

Our Favorite Toronto Restaurants

Friends enjoying a day at the mall shopping in Toronto, Ontario. We couldn't list our favorite local spots to eat without including The Beech Tree. After all, it's right next to our office! Whether you try eating there for brunch (we recommend the sweet corn fritters) or during dinner hours (give the gnocchi with rosemary and parsnip a try), you won't be disappointed at this cozy British-inspired neighborhood eatery.

Head the opposite direction on Kingston Rd. and you'll find The Grover Pub, just past Glen Stewart Park. You can always count on enjoying a cold beer, good food and friendly staff, no matter what day you stop in. With excellent wings, burgers, salads and platters to feed a crowd, it's one of our favorite weekday lunch spots!

No matter where you choose to enjoy a meal in Toronto, remember North Shores Dental always has emergency dental appointments available, just in case your teeth don’t appreciate your meal as much as your tastebuds do!
